CAPTAIN PLACEHOLDER AND THE ADVENTURES OF WE'LL FIGURE IT OUT LATER
A play for superhero movie lovers and those who love to make fun of superhero movie lovers.
Two coworkers attempt to write the “next big superhero film.” As they write, an ensemble cast manifests these ideas in front of the audience’s eyes. Every typo, deletion, and slam on the keyboard affects the action. Think “Drunk History” but with more chaos and also Batman. This ensemble piece satirizes the superhero genre while exploring questions of individual purpose, our desire for creative output and why everyone on instagram seems to have a better life than you.
I've written and produced two workshop runs of this full length play. It is my baby and it's pretty damn hilarious. I have plans to produce a third and final iteration in fall of 2023.
